10 months!

Jonah asked Mama how old I was and she said I was almost 1! In which Jonah immediately replied, "Oh, I'll help Zekey blow out his candle and eat his cake!" I'm not sure what all that is about but mom says I'll find out soon. I don't mind sharing except when there is food around...

At 10 months old I have almost perfected my wave. I'm a happy little guy and love to see Mama when I wake up from my naps. If dad gets me I make sure he takes me right to her! And when Mama gets me I love to see if Jonah is up so I can play with him. My favorite toys these days are my cars. Jonah and I have a ramp that we play with but I prefer just to hold one car in each hand. Sometimes Jonah grabs them from me but if mom and dad are watching he quickly replaces them with another. When Jonah does something I don't like I shake my head "no" at him. My parents aren't sure where I picked this up but they think it's pretty cute. I'm down to only 2 naps a day (2 hours each) so I'm pretty tired by the late afternoon and would be happy going to bed at 5:00 but my parents won't let me do that so I still go to bed at 6:00. I like to give Mama a quick call before she goes to bed around 10 and then another early morning wake up call around 5 then I'm up for good around 7 or 8. I know she would like to sleep but I just miss her sometimes. Plus I'm growing up so fast, she'll miss these days I'm sure!

Eating remains a favorite past time. I prefer foods I can pick up by myself like cheese and peas, cooked carrots and beans, anything my little hands can grab! When my food is gone it is very upsetting. I get very sad and cry until I get a little more. I am also very good at drinking water from a sippy cup and when I don't want anymore I'll let you know! Who knew communicating without any words was so easy!

I love to go to the park. At first I just sat in my stroller and watched Jonah play but I'm not sitting back and watching anymore! I can climb up the slide by myself and I love to slide down on Mama or Dada's lap!

I know I haven't made a blog update for a while but it's not because I haven't been doing anything! I've just been so busy trying to figure out this walking thing! For over a month now I've been pulling up on things and cruising around and now I can get myself up without holding on to anything and stand for about 10 seconds. I've even managed to take 2 steps before crashing back down on my bum. But I'm not giving up! I've got a big brother to chase!

Besides learning to walk, I've been helping mom around the house...washing clothes, folding clothes, putting the dishes away and just plain being cute!

And when dad comes home I crawl as fast as I can to him and give him big hugs!

Each night before I take a bath I like to get nakey with Jonah and rough house around a little before settling down.

Splish Splash!

We're having fun in the bath! Jonah has discovered "bubble beards" and decided that I needed one too!

Most nights I go to bed at 6:00pm so I take my bath first, but depending on my third nap, some nights we get to take baths together and boy is it fun! I'm a bit more wild than Jonah. I love to splash (but I get rather confused when my face is all wet...hmmmm could there be a connection?) I also love to stand up. After just a couple minutes of sitting down I'm ready to pop back up on my feet (making it difficult for whoever is washing me).

After my bath I read my goodnight nursery rhyme book. I really get into this, even my feet help hold the book open! We've modified a couple of the nursery rhymes like "Are you sleeping, are you sleeping brother Jonah" and "Zeke be nimble, Zeke be quick, Zeke just over the candlestick".

9 months!

Yeah! I'm 9 months old already. And I am a man on the move! No lounging around for me. I prefer to stand up everywhere I go. I can pull myself up on chairs, the couch, the wall, anything! Mom and dad have to be real careful though because some things tumble right on top of me and I'm not too fond of that. I've already had my share of bonks! But I'm a tough little cookie.
Mom and dad call me "sniffer boy" because wherever I go I always sniff and smile real big. It always makes them laugh.
So I had my nine month check up on my actual nine month birthday but we were in the middle of moving so I didn't get to post right away. Anyway, here are my stats: I weigh 20 lbs. 8 oz. (50%), my head is 17.75 inches (50%) and I am 30 inches long (90%). This doctor visit was fun because I didn't have to get any shots!
I am a real good eater just like my big brother. My favorites are the orange veggies like carrots, sweet pototoes and squash. I also like green beans. My favorite fruits are bananas and peaches. If I see Jonah eating a banana I make a bee line for him fast! He is always so kind to share with me too. And in between meals I love to snack on Puffs and Cheerios and shredded mozzarella. And there is nothing dainty about how I eat. I grab fist fulls and shove them in, hoping some of them make it to my mouth. And just like my daddy was, I'm a scavenger! After I eat I get down on the floor and hunt under the table for anything I or anyone else might have dropped. I can't just let good food go to waste!
Daddy is back at work now and the first thing he brought home was a cold! And he gave it to me and Jonah! Not very nice Daddy! So far mom is the only healthy one in the house but as much as Jonah coughs on her and I rub my snotty nose on her, she's bound to get it soon enough.
