5 months!

I am 5 months old already! Pretty soon I'll be as big as Jonah. I think I am fixing to grow some more because I can only stay awake for an hour before I need another nap. That puts me at 3 or 4 naps a day! When mom notices my sleepy cues (rubbing my eyes) she sings me a couple of songs, usually "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" or "You are my Sunshine" and lays me down in my bed. I fuss a little before falling asleep. I'm a bit unpredictable though, sometimes I'll nap for an hour and sometimes 3 hours. I always wake up so happy though!
I am trying my best to sit up. If I'm in my car seat or swing I try to do sit-ups just so I can have my head up like a big boy.

As for my new tricks, I can roll from my tummy to my back but the other way is still too hard. It won't be long though, I can really arch my back and almost get over. I'm a very smiley boy. "Hi Beautiful" are still my favorite words. They get me every time!

My new crib!

My new crib is pretty sweet. I'm in my big boy bed now and I have my own room and everything. (Don't worry, there is also a bed in there for mom...just in case I want her nearby...which I do of course at least a couple times a night!) I am becoming a much better napper these days. I even let mom put me down "drowsy but awake" (something she didn't believe in until recently). She has to come in and "sh-sh-sh" me and put my pacifier back in a few times (those darn hands of mine always pull that thing out and I get mad) but eventually I drift off to dreamland and all is well. I usually take 3 good naps a day, sometimes 4. And when I'm not sleeping I like to play in my swing, office, playmat or just be held while chewing on a toy. I still flash my biggest smiles when someone calls me "Beautiful". I'm not sure what it means but it's a really sweet word and it gets me every time.

I am getting to be such a big boy. I love to put anything and everything into my mouth. Mom thinks I must be getting some toofers. I am such a happy boy too, I love to show off my big grins. It's a little tricky to capture my biggest smiles because I'm fascinated with the camera light. But here are a couple cute ones I got with mom and dad.

Status Update...

Well, I double checked with my doctor and I am 27 inches long. Mom also pointed out to the doctor that I have one leg that is a little...well, fat. You see I have one huge crease in my right leg but I don't have one on my left. Well, to be on the safe side he wanted to x-ray it so we did and everything is A-OK! Silly doctors.
In other news, I got a new office. I like it a lot but after a few minutes my head gets a bit tired and I start leaning over. I still love tummy time and I love, love, love my big brother! I watch him wherever he goes. Sometimes he startles me because he is so loud but I am getting used to that. I am starting to give mom lots of kisses too. I especially like to chomp her chin! But not dad, he is way too prickly! As for my sleeping...dad is ready to make me sleep through the night! But I'm not quite ready for that. I think I would miss mom way too much! The problem is that I only nurse for a couple minutes so mom doesn't think that I get full. Even during the day the longest I eat is 3 minutes. What can I say, I've got a little belly!
