1 month!

I'm 1 month old today! Even though mom still says I'm a lazy eater, I sure am growing fast. I now weigh 11 lbs. 6 oz. I'm filling out my clothes more and I am definitely getting longer. Mom already had to retire 2 of my (her) favorite outfits.
















It looks like I'm going to carry on the monthly basketball picture tradition my big brother started. Do we look alike? He was 12.4 lbs at 1 month but I was a pound lighter at birth so technically I'm gaining faster!

My 2nd Christmas!

My Herzog grandparents and my great Aunt Helen came to visit me, and as you can see, my 2nd Christmas was just as exciting as my first...
Unwrapping all those gifts sure makes a boy tired! No one minds though, it gives them lots of good snuggle time with me.

My 1st Christmas

My first Christmas was pretty great. I dressed up as a reindeer!
















My big brother wore his Santa hat and mom posed us for a picture. He loves to hold me.
















This is my great Uncle Robert and Aunt Connie. Connie snuggled me lots and I slept like a baby in her arms.
I let mom and dad open my gifts this year, I was too sleepy...

A Brother Like No Other!

I have the best big brother in the whole world! He's very attentive to my needs. He likes to get real close to me and tell mom if I am awake or asleep. (He likes it when I am awake but that is not very often.) If I cry he runs to me and puts the plug in my mouth, whether I want it or not. We do lots of things together. If I'm in my bouncy chair he gets in his too! If I'm laying on the floor, he wants to lay too. We take turns playing under the playgym.








He also likes to tell mom and dad who should hold me and occasionally he wants to hold me. Luckily he is very gentle with me so I don't mind.

Lovin' Life

Hi everyone! My first 2 weeks of life have been great. My Nana took some time off work to be with me and I enjoyed her sweet snuggles. Although my big brother hogged her most of the time, I got to play with her in the mornings while mom caught a few more zzz's.
















Jonah and I both had to go to the pediatrician for checkups last week and mom told the doctor again that I was a lazy eater but he didn't believe her because I had gained 15 1/2 oz in the last 10 days. (9 lbs. 3.5 oz) He said he likes us babies to gain an ounce a day so I added 5 and a half more to that! Ha! It's just that mom's milk makes me so sleepy... she needs to start making the non-drowsy kind :)

Well, the rest of me checked out okay too and I don't have to go back until I'm 2 months old! Poor Jonah didn't have it so easy. He got 2 shots and by the sounds of it, they didn't feel so good.

I am a very snuggly little guy. In fact if I had my way, I'd sleep right here all the time! It's my favorite spot. Sometimes mom and I stay up at night just to snuggle. She may say she's tired, but I know she wouldn't have it any other way.

Precious Little Parts

My mom is a little camera happy so we've been having lots of photo shoots. She knows we boys grow up way too fast so she's determined to document each step. Here are some of my precious little parts.

Bath time!

My umbilical cord finally fell off so I got to take my first bath! My eyes were wide open but I seemed to enjoy the warm water. I didn't cry until the end when I had to get out.

Week 1

My first week at home has been great. I just eat and sleep and snuggle all day long. My big brother likes me a lot but he lets mom and dad know who should hold me and when. For some reason he always wants dad to hold me when I'm nursing. He also likes to tell me when I've had enough milk. I think I'll be the judge of that thank you very much!

I had my first check up yesterday and it was quite an adventure getting out the door. Luckily Nana came over and helped us. My doctor said I looked great! When I left the hospital I weighed only 7 lbs. 11 oz. but I am already up to 8 lbs. 4 oz. Mom says I'm a little bit lazy though. I like to nurse for only a few minutes then I get very tired and nothing can wake me up. The first few days I ate every hour but now I'm stretching it out a bit to 2 or 3 hours between meals.

The other day mom gave me a pacifier because I was constantly trying to suck my hands...and let me just tell you, I love that thing! If it falls out I can count on Jonah to put it back in for me too.

My great-grandparents came to visit me at home too. I showed them how well I could sleep.
