Man in the Mirror

I think I discovered my new best friend today. He lives in the mirror! Mom and I were playing in the closet (okay, maybe she was packing and I was playing...minor details) but anyway, I got a glimpse of this handsome little devil in the mirror and he was looking right at me! I crawled my little hiney right up to him and started smooching! He loves to smile and squeal too! I hope he'll be there tomorrow so we can play some more!

From Crawlin' to Cruisin'!

Since I'm a big boy now I decided to pick out my own toys from the toy box. I simply crawled right over, pulled myself up and wah-la! All the toys I could want, right at my little fingertips! I was searching for a whiffle ball...my favorite!
Then my Daddy came home from his first day of work! I sure did miss him. Now I will reach for him even if Mama's in the room, us boys have to stick together! I don't get to see him too much these days. Sometimes if he's lucky he gets to play with me in the mornings but when he comes home I'm usually asleep or heading for a nap shortly. I still take 3 a day...it's beauty rest people! It's not easy being this cute!

I got toofers!

Look what I sprouted! I've got not one but 2 new toofers! And good news: mom found her camera! (She lost it at a park but some kind soul turned it in so she went a little camera happy today after getting it back.)

Jonah and I play together all the time now. He makes me laugh and squeal! Sometimes in the car we just sit back there and giggle together and our parents have no clue what we're up to. At home I love to crawl after him. I'm quite motivated to go fast these days to try and get to where he is. Today we played cars together. I had a hard time just watching though. I wanted in on the action so I decided to sit on the track.

Shucks! Caught in the act...

Mom lost (although she's hoping only temporarily misplaced) her camera, otherwise I'm sure there would be a really cute picture of me peering out from the top of my crib. Yep, I've learned how to stand up! After my parents put me to bed last night I started making some noise but then mom thought I sounded a bit frantic so she came to check on me and I was standing up...which was great, only I didn't know how to get back down. Thank goodness she helped me! But then Dad had to lower my crib. This of course got me all riled up, then Jonah came in and joined the fun. While dad was working, Jonah and I had lots of fun jumping on my mattress and squealing. Talk about a second wind! My parents were worried I wouldn't go back so sleep but I was a little tuckered out from all that excitement and slept the whole night through! This is my funny face I like to make all the time. I wrinkle up my nose and sniff. It's mom's favorite picture!

8 months!

Look at me! I am such a smiley boy. And where oh where has the time gone? I am now sitting up, crawling and am about to sprout my first little toofers! My mom knew month 8 was going to be a big one. That is when Jonah started doing all of these things too! And boy do I want to do everything he does! Especially eat! Whenever I see him with food I try my best to get to him as fast as possible. Even if I've already eaten, I still want some of what he's having. And if you know Jonah, he is always eating! Our favorite thing to do is eat Puffs together. He is good at feeding me. When I get to pick them up myself I have to make sure I grab all of them with both hands before I eat any. Then sometimes I forget they are in my hands and I start looking for more. I haven't quite mastered the pincher grip yet but my whole hands work fine for now. I can get more in my mouth that way! I can also drink water from a sippy cup.
Besides eating, I love to jump in my jump-up or in the lap of whoever is holding me. I've got lots of energy and I am very strong! According to the airport luggage scale I weigh exactly 20 lbs! I go in for my next check up in a couple of weeks so we'll see how accurate it is. As you can tell from my picture, I still love my feet and will grab them any chance I get! Oh, I am now sleeping through the night! Yeah, it only took me 8 months...I think it was harder for mommy than it was for me! She wasn't going to make me cry it out until I was at least 6 months old but then we took a big month long trip to Washington so she didn't want to do it then...so when we got back home, she let me get over jetlag and last night was the big test! I woke up a couple times but dad said it didn't take me long to go back to sleep. He was in charge of listening for me because mom can't stand to hear me cry. I sure was glad to see her in the morning though! I gave her the biggest snuggle hug ever! Then I had some milk! Lots of milk! I love my Daddy but right now Mama has my heart! If she's in the room and not holding me I let her know about it. I'll be playing happy as a clam with dad but if I catch a glimpse of her I realize I want her and now! And of course she can't resist me! It's a win win situation for sure! (For everyone except Dad I guess, sorry!)
Here's a video of me in action!

Baptism

August 3rd was a sweet, sweet day. I got Baptised by my parent's good friend Ryan Alexander. First we sang Amazing Grace, then Ryan read the first three verses from Ezekiel: "In the thirtieth year in the fourth month on the fifth day of the month, while I was among the exiles by the Chebar Canal, the heavens opened and I saw visions of God. On the fifth day of the month-it was the fifth year of King Jehoiachin's exile-the word of the Lord came directly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the Chebar Canal and the Lord's hand was on him there."

After I got Baptised we sang Jesus Loves Me and Ryan closed with some special words of prayer. Then we headed out for a BBQ to visit with our friends and family who were able to come. Thank you all for sharing this blessed day with us! A special thanks to Pam for playing the piano for us despite a last minute request! And to Butch for videotaping. We love you!

Katie's Garden

Every day we go to Katie's Garden. I usually sit in my stroller and watch Jonah pick blueberries but today mom put me in the grass! I wasn't soo sure about it at first but after a while I decided it was okay. Thanks Dan and Katie for letting us raid your garden!
